Foothills Park Improvements
Plans are starting to move forward with the Foothills Park playground renovation.Thanks to Diane Rhodus and Green Mountainside Civic Association, we were awarded a $50,000 grant to improve the playground at Foothills Park. GMCA will contribute $1000 and the City of Lakewood is willing to pitch in another $30,000 to make this happen.
Diane along with some parents here in Green Mountain Estates met with Lakewood to start discussing plans for the park. They are hoping to start breaking ground at the end of April. Looking at all the colorful and attractive equipment to choose from, it became very apparent that more money is needed to have a playground that meets the needs of a range of children. A discussion began about a fundraiser to add to any equipment in the present budget. So, be looking for that information in the coming weeks.
