Happy Holidays
Hello everyone, Janice Bradburn here!
Lots of great things are happening at this time of year.
Great things are also happening with the Green Mountainside Civic Association.
We have added Allison Olis to our meetings. She is member of the Foothills PTA and is working as a liaison between our neighborhood and our neighborhood school. She will also update us on happenings with the Jeffco School District (hopefully everyone was able to view the meetings about budget cuts that was announced on the GMCA website!).
We have also added a new board member, Matthew Benson. He moved into our neighborhood relatively recently and has added some great perspective in giving us a fresh approach to different functions of the board. He is also heading a “Communications Committee” and is re-invigorating the Welcome Wagon (see his article in this issue). I hope you consider becoming involved with this important group and welcoming folks to our neighborhood.
Ken Bowen is heading up the Adopt-A-Family event again this year. This is a very special and rewarding project since it directly effects folks right here in our community. See his article below and I hope you can make a contribution or help out with some of the work involved with this heartfelt outreach.
Santa (a.k.a. Warren Howard) will be visiting some of the children at Foothills Elementary School. This will happen on the last day of school before the winter break and I know the children and Santa are looking forward to it.
Charlotte and Carl Worster having been working hard in getting Neighborhood Watch re-invigorated and trying to get help for snow removal for those folks who are having a difficult time keeping up with our ever increasing deep snows. So many people responded to the on-line announcement that the company that Carl found were maxed out. Now we are looking at other ways to help those who need it.
We are hoping to have a photo contest for the website after the first of the year. Lee Flower will head up that endeavor. More information to follow after the first of the year.
As you can see we are keeping very busy.
