The Independence Day Parade was fun again! It was well attended for a 3 day weekend, with estimates from 75-100 people and pets. We gave away about 120 popsicles, a ton of popcorn and a lot of donated bakery. The decorations were used to good effect - people, bikes and pets looked colorful and festive. Neighbors came out to wave and more houses along the parade route are decorated every year. It is so fun to see the participation level rise for this wonderful American holiday. This year we had extra help making crafts, setting up and cleaning up, donating shade, donating to supply costs, donating can recycling and carrying music and signs. Thank you all! Thank you to the GMCA and to the announcers who got us started with July 4th cheer and then telling us facts and jokes at the end. Thank you everyone for your good attitude and willingness to have fun with us. I hope to see you again next year! Thank you all! - Karen Morgan, organizer
