My husband and I started our Marble and Granite business 11 years ago. Devron has always had his own business. Some with partners and some alone but it always has pertained to the Marble and Granite industry. So, this time he needed a partner he could trust and that would be me. We brought our 5 month old son to work with us. We built him his very own office next to mine. I would change his diapers and feed him while running all the financials and working with clients. It was quite a challenge and lasted 4 years until he went to preschool. When our son was 3 we started looking for a home on Green Mountain. We have always liked the neighborhood and the schools.
We found our home on the Internet. It was in framing stages and all building had stopped on it. The couple that started it could not finish it. This was a great opportunity for us because we could finish it ourselves. Every day after work we would work on our house until 10:00 at night and a lot of times later than that. Our son would sleep on card board, Styrofoam, his stroller, bathtub where ever we were working in the house until we were done for the day. Many times I would be holding the flash light while my husband would be setting and grinding stone. We set cabinets installed flooring, built our patio and decks. You name it we built it. Devron said he was so proud to have a wife who could carry 9,000 pounds of concrete to the back of our house. Not to mention all the tile, stone, appliances, plumbing, and etc. It took us 10 months to complete. In the middle of moving into our new home I started feeling very weak and tired. I thought it was from so many months of working on our house but, you guessed it, I was pregnant with another boy. They both go to Foothills Elementary and we will be living in this neighborhood I hope for many years to come.
