Frequently Asked Questions
"Does GMCA have covenants?"
No. As the hill was developed there were covenants for various filings. These date to the 1960's and 1970's. Home Owner Associations to enforce these covenants did not stand the test of time. Our association works with neighbors and the city in enforcing the codes and ordinances of the City of Lakewood. There have been instances when GMCA helped the city in successful efforts to draft or modify city rules.
Who are members of GMCA?
Our bylaws stipulate that all homeowners within our geographic area are automatically members of GMCA. The geographic area is defined in the bylaws but are roughly defined by an east boundary running from Alkire and Cedar, to Alkire and Beech, and up to Foothill Drive. The north, west boundaries are Hayden Park (Green Mountain) and the south boundary is the park and McIntyre Gulch.
What are the dues?
The dues for GMCA are $35 per year and fund our totally voluntary association. Dues are voluntary.
Does GMCA keep financial records? Are they available?
Yes, GMCA keeps detailed financial records including recording all sources and uses of funds. All federal and local filing requirements are met. Members may see GMCA statements and ask question. The best way is to use the Contact GMCA form to submit a question which then will be answered either by email, phone, or (the best) with a discussion at the next Member Meeting (check the calendar).
