Sometimes we receive comment forms that are very interesting, but for one reason or another, they don't go out in bulletins. But we can't just throw them away. They are published on this page.

April 23, 2014 - Final exchange in a discussion about parking on the wrong side of the street.
I wasn't me but my daughter & everyone else who was parked on the wrong side of the street. What happened to "R" was: the coldest of days the water pipes burst at the ranch where she boards her horses flooding the barn. Her son, brother & "R" were frantically pumping water out until they could find the main water source to shut off the main valve.
Driving up to the house, wet, freezing cold and a MUST PEE situation, saw the cop but ran into the house anyway. Brief minutes later, she ran back outside to move the truck into the driveway but the cop was already there with the ticket. She explained to him the situation. His response...."sorry to make your day worse than it already is."
Same cop gave me a ticket for not coming to a complete stop. I challenged & lost. He won based on his claim that my tire rim rolled. The cost: $186 & 4 points. Nice guy!

April 22, 2014 - Block Party and Neighborhood Watch
Thanks very much for providing these updates and newsletters. I have lived in many neighborhoods and have never lived in one as great as this. Thanks to everybody who works so diligently to put information like this together.
I have gathered that the neighborhood watch program resonates with many and can be highly effective. I understand how important an effective meetings can be. However, for somebody like me, even with an HOA meeting on the calendar it can get overtaken by other things.
I am probably very much like others in the neighborhood. I know all of my neighbors personally and have no issues reaching out to my neighbors. We host an annual block party each Father’s Day and have all of our neighbors spending time together in a great social event. I may not make it to the Civic Association meetings, however, if a link were provided to a site depicting all the details of forming and implementing a neighborhood watch I would present this to all my neighbors and they would just dig in on something like this. We all already do watch out for each other, but this could provide a real enhancement.
Thanks again to all involved in our Civic Association, I know that this group does a whole bunch with sparse resources.
Phil
GMCA: Phil was directed to http://www.greenmountainestates.org/neighborhood-watch.html where there is a to-do list for Neighborhood Watch. We also asked for pictures of his next Block Party. http://www.greenmountainestates.org/neighborhood-block-parties.html

April 22, 2014 - Trash Cans, Wind
Just a comment on the recycle and trash all over. The wind was particularly strong last Tuesday night into Wednesday am and on my walk there were numerous downed recycle and trash bins emptying all over the street. I think it was the wind and people need to make sure their bins are secure and weighted down. These bins are placed out the night before and forgotten, we should take more responsibility for our actions and try to do what we can to keep trash and recycle under control.

March 30, 2014 - Curb Addresses
Several of our neighbors have had their addresses painted on their curb this year. As I ponder (only briefly) the idea that I may one day call for an ambulance, a recent comment received from a neighbor recommending a curb address painter hit home. Curb addresses provide an excellent reference to your home for everyone. My new friends will like it. I understand that first responders are a mix as to their personal preference in finding addresses. Scott Brenimer is painting curb addresses for us at a special price of $14. He says his materials are the best and are intended to last 5 years. We of course make no endorsements, but you can see him painting my address. He can be reached at 303-435-1683.
