Spring and Fall Cleanup
The GMCA cleanup days answers the burning question, "What can I do with this old mattress?" The answer is the dumpsters that GMCA procures for that very purpose. Located at the Green Mountain United Methodist Church parking lot, bring those odd items that are difficult to dispose of, and your spring cleaning will be complete.
NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS.
The rental of the dumpsters is an example of the use of your donations. We procure the dumpsters from the same waste disposal company that we have negotiated special pricing for our neighborhood waste collection.
Note that in the past we have had a chipper. We no longer operate a chipper due to safety concerns.
Who can utilize the cleanup services:
Any resident of the GMCA area who resides within the boundaries of Alkire Street from Cedar Drive to Alameda Blvd and the housing area west of Alkire. Residence will be verified at check-in. We hope you will take this opportunity to make sure your voluntary annual donation of $25.00 is in. We are accepting current year as well as next year's donations.
Note: The Spring and Fall cleanups are funded from your residential donations. GMCA provides this service as a way of helping residents get rid of stuff that would need to go to a landfill including anything from failed garage sale items to yard waste. We are constantly working to help residents of our neighborhood keep their yards looking nice in order to maintain and increase our property values.
Compare the cleanup days to a trip to the Foothills Landfill above Golden. 35 miles round trip, $45 to $60 fee, rent a yellow vest for a buck, and your load must be covered and secure to avoid a $250 to $1,000 fine (regularly policed). Sure puts GMCA cleanup in perspective.
