Today we changed the site to use a menu on the top of the form rather than the side.  This gives us more space on the page horizontally, and it makes it easier for our users to manage the menu as the site grows.

Through the entire month of January, 2014 we have added information regarding our Request for Proposal project which started about Thanksgiving and ended in January.

All details were posted and are featured at this time.  

Ultimately this data will be moved to a permanent archive position and we'll figure out a way that we can reference the data, probably in History, New Neighbor, and favorite links.

A page for the Privacy Statement has been added with a button link provided on the Website page which is within "About GMCA".

In this blog, under the category "board discussion", I added a POST for a draft privacy statement.  I sent an email suggesting the board take a look and try some real and or experimental comments to the post.  We can compare this format to the effectiveness of email.

Green Mountainside Civic Association collects information about neighbors and records property addresses, owner names, and email addresses.  Using this data GMCA tracks member voluntary contributions and the year to which the contribution applies, and attendance records for various association events. 

Email addresses are used to send bulletins from time to time and never disclosed to anyone.  Property addresses are disclosed when that address is publicly available by simply looking at the property.  Currently these addresses are used by GMCA to designate winners in our landscape and holiday decorations judging.  Photographs of landscaping and decorations may be associated with the address and are always of images visible from the street without leaving public property.

Names of property owners are never disclosed on our website except when specifically permitted by that person.  For instance, names of owners of cars featured on the website are only included when explicitly permitted by the owner.  Names of individuals involved with various committees, clubs and groups may have their names published but only with their explicit permission.

Board members names are included on the website and at the board member’s discretion, email addresses and phone numbers may be listed.
